Young Canadianists / Jeunes Canadianistes

E-mail Print PDF
Central European Association of Canadian Studies - Young Canadianists

The Student Network of CEACS is a network of young scholars involved in Canada-related research projects from any Central-European college and university who wish to exchange ideas with their peers.

Our aim is to explore new Canadian Central-European perspectives and support research on Canadian Studies conducted by young scholars in different fields such as Media, Social Studies, Politics, Law, Economics, Geography, Environmental Studies, Peace and Security Issues, International Relations, Linguistics, Literature and Culture, encouraging interdisciplinary and comparative approaches.

Our plan is to organize annual conferences, workshops and panels on Canada-related topics, creating an opportunity for exchange of ideas and discussions all members can benefit from. Also, to interested members we will offer news and information on upcoming grants, awards and scholarships, as well as conferences, workshops and various calls for papers. Furthermore, one is given the chance of receiving immediate feed-back from specialists that participate in these meetings, of improving the papers, of getting more information about the field(s) of their research, by means of active discussions/ debates. To these, one can add the benefit of practicing skills of public speaking and international communication in the two official languages of Canada.

Other goals of the Network include the promotion of Canadian studies and research on Canada among young students, as well as the facilitation of contacts among scholars engaged in Canadian studies. The idea for the future remains creating a relevant body of scholars who will advance Canadian studies in the years to come, striving to create a global Young Canadianists' network.
